I read it and I liked it a lot, but LOVEFOOL Saga is for me even better. What I was surprised of was the end. There was a lot of action, mysteries and intrigues. I loved it. I was like the BBC series about the emperor Claudius. I think everybody would be pleased to see it as a movie (like Gladiator with Russel Crowe) or a series. It’s very good written, fluently and lyrically. I loved the battle scene. It was impressive! It sounded like music! Like a symphony! Awesome! There is a lot of historical background, but it’s not depressing.
I LOVE your book! I liked it from the very beginning (reading the free samples was amazing) and I wanted to read as long as there were any further pages. I am waiting for the second part and I keep my fingers crossed for Julian, Mia and Sebastian. But I am from Team Julian rather than Team Sebastian.
Amalia Angellinni, awesome story, beautiful story, book review, connection between Mia and Julian, connection between Mia and Sebastian, deeply descriptions of things and places, Europe, gentle, great romance, great surprise, hope, inspiring, Lovefool, magical, not another teenager novel, philosophy, places in Poland, sensitive, style of writing, supernatural creatures, Warsaw
Because of the first situation, I was furious, disappointed, I took myself to my own borders and I am still politically correct and diplomatic as always. Otherwise, I would be on the lost position from the very beginning. Dead man is always walking on the completely thin red line. It is the 4th degree of danger. Damn it.
Because of the situation number two, which is overwhelming the previous statement with a great shadow, I feel powerless. And it hurts mostly. I am throwing myself inside of me. I am walking on the thin ice. Dead woman is walking instead of me. I am curious when it all crashes down. Scratches are there for a long time.
Thousands of words, millions of associations, lack of sense in the whole chaos and I am looking for some emotions anyway. Today I do not feel much. I feel empty inside and outside of me. I left him now which echoes through eternity. I am feeling a great nothing. I see just blood on the snow and logically seen I know it is my blood. Cogito ergo sum, I think, therefore I am. I suppose you can still see a shadow of me. Let me die. Let me rest in peace. There is nothing of me anywhere. I cannot live like this any more.
Then I thought I needed one minute to notice him, one hour to judge him and one day to fall in love with him. Now I need the whole eternity to forget him. I do not have so much time. I am dying now. I love him and I am dying.
I’ve never been in love with a super natural creature like Julian before, but therefore, I feel like I met him more than once. It seems I am a victim of Italian young author Amalia Angellinni and her first novel, LOVEFOOL, a sensitive, gentle, inspiring, great romance with deepness of the greatest writers ever. It is not yet as well-known as other great books, but I am sure it will be the case soon. It is romantic, but not too sweet. It is not another teenager novel, it is a story for adults and youth, women and men. The idea behind it with a supernatural creatures like Julian and his family is fabulous, magnificent and I easily believe it or I want to believe, because it gives hope and dreams.
Many compared it already with TWILIGHT and wrote that LOVEFOOL is even better. I definitely agree.
Mia is like Bella Swan an awkward seventeen year old girl, who tries not to catch attention, although she is quite interesting for all people she meets. She is very self-conscious and sporty, she loves running and tries not to be in contact with anyone. She wants to protect her surrounding from her past that captures her one day once more. She has some bad feelings and her worst case scenario is even worse than she thought.
In a very complicated situation and although she is scared and insecure, she lets herself fall into two relationships. The first one is a great connection with Sebastian, a human, who felt in love with her. Mia feels connection between them, but she let herself fall very slowly and rather step by step than uncontrolled. Sebastian describes his strategy by knowing her better as “taming Mia”. She is very attractive to him and his feelings overwhelm him more and more.
The second relationship is a connection between Mia and Julian. Julian is something more than a human, but there is no word that could describe him. His magnificent kind of being and the philosophy behind him are so great that I can’t summarize it. You have to read about it. It’s magical.
Julian is very experienced in contacts with people, but as he meets Mia he discovers a new range and intensity of feelings. She is his fate and he has to protect her. He knows that Mia hides some secrets, but he doesn’t want to push Mia to tell him everything. He wants to give her time. But there is no time. Mia’s past comes back in form of a cruel Jonas and he puts them both in danger, physically and emotionally. It is an awesome story and watching how it develops is just great, amazing and magnificent.
I liked the language: it was sometimes so poetical and magical, but not sweet like chocolate. And Mia doesn’t always underlines how beautiful Julian is. We know it already. (This was the weakness by TWILIGHT; Bella always says how great Edward is and it is simply too much!!!). Young writer Amalia Angellinni shows furthermore some details, but she let the reader to imagine the rest of pieces. The whole story is like a puzzle and the reader has to put them all together. In the end, you expect to have the entire picture, but there is just a great surprise. I didn’t expect the end that just blew me off. Therefore, I wait impatiently for the second part of the story.
Upon discovering that author, Amalia Angellinni, is a student and young girl, I was amazed. Her style of writing is relaxed while channelling all the appropriate emotions, sucking her audience into this beautiful story of more than just true love. Because of her Polish grandpa, Angellinni put the action of her first book in Europe, mostly in Poland. You can discover Warsaw and some other places in Poland. The descriptions are in the background, but you still feel the magnificence of places and feelings. I would like to go to Warsaw and find the tea house that was described in this book. It is a magical place. I would go every time to SUNSHINE, the club of Julian with its unbelievable style of Picasso and other surrealists. Angellinni gives sometimes very deeply descriptions of things and places and it don’t disturb the action. (Mostly I don’t like many descriptions and there are not so many of them, but they are very interesting and intensive!).
Furthermore, Angellinni gave every chapter a title of songs she liked and in this way, a soundtrack for this book was made and it allowed me to follow emotions and feelings better than in case of other books. Some songs I discovered while reading and some songs got a new dimension for me while I read.
I truly, madly, deeply advise to read this story and I hope you will love it the same way I love it. The magical atmosphere of this book is with me the whole time, because you can easily imagine that Julian and his family are between us. I proudly can admit that I am one of first fans of LOVEFOOL and I can easily imagine that we will discover a LOVEFOOL WAVE soon.
So, if you liked TWILIGHT and you are upset, because the saga is finished, start reading LOVEFOOL and you won’t be disappointed. It is a further increase in things called love, friendship and fate.
PS. After I talked with Amalia @Facebook I know that the second part of book will take place among all in the USA and Italy. I am curious where she puts main characters and how magnificent she will describe these places!
a new kind of superhero, Amalia Angellinni, book review, explanation of the sense of life, fantasy creatures, Ford Mustang from 1968, holding hands, language, Lovefool, magnificent and wonderful, mission and streghts of characters, passionate kissing, sex, Violence
Great message and explanation of Julian and his family and therefore, the sense of life.
What to watch out for
A brutal, bloody slugs by Jonas are very cruel, but the mirror scene is somehow magnificent and wonderful. Violence underlines just the action, mission and streghts of characters
Some passionate kissing, holding hands and looking at each other.
Easy to follow, sometimes just poetry! I loved it!
Some BMW here, Benz there, lovely Ford Mustang! then mascara, and hello kitty, but it suits perfectly into the concept!
Drinking, drugs, & smoking:
Mia drinks fruity, juicy tea and she eats almost nothing, there is one pizza scene and two cooking scenes, Julian never eats and never sleeps, main characters are love(fool) addicted, and so am I
a new kind of superhero, a real European attitude, Amalia Angellinni, better than Stephen King, book review, connection, danger, easy to read, enigma Julian, fall in love, fantasy creatures, Ford Mustang from 1968, insecure of feelings, Jonas, Julian and his family, literature, Lovefool, Lovefool’s soundtrack, Mia (Emilia) Kowalska, not a human, not another Twilight, read a poem, relationship, Scholar-Online, Sebastian, shy, the most average name in Poland, Tolkien’s world, Twilight or Harry Potter, very romantic
Yes, I know, I should be deeply ashamed of myself, and at first I wanted just to support my girlfriend, who was very fascinated by this book. She was crazy about it and I wanted to know what she was fascinated about and she suggested reading Lovefool. So I started and I thought it is another Twilight-wannabe fever. Instead, it was just the beginning of a fancy journey to Poland (that I don’t know) and into an amazing world of Julian’s family. I was intrigued by the concept of this book.
I like finding new authors and my girlfriend said that Amalia Angellinni is a student from Italy and I am a student myself, so I wanted to discover what a person in my age could bring into literature. I know that it will be a #1 bestseller soon, because it is so good. It is one of my favourite book on my book list (not because of this whole love story, but because of the fascinating concept of Julian).
The story is about a girl named Mia (Emilia) Kowalska. Her name is the most average name in Poland. She moves from city to city every year, because of her past. She lives only with her grandmother, because her parents were murdered in suspicious circumstances. There seems not to be any further family members except Aunt Renata.
Mia doesn’t make friends, because she doesn’t want to involve further people in her history and she has a bad feeling that her history will catch her one day one more time. Because she wants to help her grandmother, she has to work (even illegal) and through her job, she meets Sebastian. He is a human and their relationship is developing in a normal way. They learn each other better and better, their connection becomes deeper and deeper. Up to now, nothing new and a normal development between girls and boys. Sebastian looks at her as at a weak, shy girl and he has no clue about Mia’s history and changes in her life. Here, you can naturally follow every emotion of them both, because everyone was already in love and was shy, insecure of own feelings and the entire situation.
In the meanwhile the most interesting character appears. It’s the local enigma Julian. We don’t know his entire name. He is a being that catches attraction and attendance of every human being. He seems to be a person that is reliable, trustworthy and very, very attractive.
Only Mia notices that he is not like everyone else she knows. As the two start to fall in love with one another, it’s not a step by step development but a jump from Salto Angel as Amalia Angellinni describes it. Mia and Julian try not to act much and at first they fight against own curiosity and interest to step forward, because they are insecure of feeling of another side. Because of a coincidence Mia and Julian meet once more and they know how difficult their situation is. They don’t want to show their real positions, because every one of them has own secret that has to be protect. Mia is in danger because of a being from her past (Jonas) and Julian is not a human. They worlds collide.
As a whole, Amalia Angellinni’s writing style is very easy to read, although there are many very poetic phrases. Sometimes I had the impression that I read a poem, and some words connections are very beautiful. My girlfriend likes, when I try to quote some sentences, because it is very romantic. Angellinni describes sometimes very detailed some chosen things, people or places, but it doesn’t disturb the action. It makes it even more interesting. On another hand, she lefts many free spaces, because people, who are in love, don’t percept the whole surrounding, but just chosen parts of it. That is the reason why I could read this book so fluently. Although it has over 300 pages, Angellinni keeps the story flowing fluently. You never feel like she is throwing something into the story just to add on a few pages. After Twilight I wished more action in the book and I got it. It’s not only because of Jonas, already Mia’s passion to run brings dynamics and movements. Just for guys: a great Ford Mustang from 1968. this is a car of my dreams and already knowing that Julian drives it, makes me go crazy.
As I already noticed, the book doesn’t allow you to foresee the end. Actually, you think, you know the end and then you are just flabbergasted. It’s like Stephen King, where you don’t know how the story ends until it ends. Amalia Angellinni let reader following some well-known conceptions from the beginning, but then you notice that she plays with you. At first, she creates Julian and his family. They are special beings and you have no idea what to expect from them. They are no vampires or creatures that you already know from Twilight or Harry Potter or even Tolkien’s world of hobbits and fantasy creatures. Amalia Angellinni presents a new kind of superhero. I am still flabbergasted by her conceptions. Then, the author makes the second almost impossible thing and you finished reading the book and you think: “Oh Yeah! I totally get that now!” and then you think: “Oh No! I want more! Where is the rest?”, because one complete puzzle is a beginning of a new puzzle. That is very rarely by female writers. I am still curious how Amalia Angellinni wants to lead her story further, because I have no clue what to expect! She’s even better than Stephen King right now! It keeps my interest.
If you look for an interesting book, I would say read it. This could be a perfect present for coming X-Mas as well. All the girls you know will be appreciate for such a book and you can easily talk with guys about it without feeling of being ashamed. Guys can talk about great conceptions (Julian!), too. What I liked was the action that kept me reading until I finished.
My girlfriend liked Lovefool’s soundtrack. I found some new songs I didn’t know and the mix is very interesting. Everyone finds something to love. Finally, it is indeed a love story, but being a lovefool plays here a crucial role. I found some part of me there (yes, we, guys, are sometimes insecure as well). The tile suits perfectly to the book content.
What I have to underline is the fact that my girlfriend got a special postcard from Amalia Angellinni. My girlfriend was one of the first persons, who bought this book and it was a very nice gesture from the author to thank personally for it. We chatted with Amalia Angellinni on Facebook and it was a great experience, too. She didn’t give away how the story goes. It was very nice to let her to know (at least a little bit). It was interesting to hear (read) how she came to publishing her book and how much luck she had that she found out such great team at Scholar-Online. In my opinion, this is a real European attitude: to help each other as far as we can.
In the end: through this book I have new topics to talk with my girlfriend and still something to wait for. After waiting for Lord of the Rings and then Harry Potter series, I patiently wait for Lovefool saga to keep the puzzles together.
The neighbour read the Polish edition of Lovefool and she liked it. I liked the most the word „dziewczyniarski“ [girlish, a new born word].
I am no fan of „dziewczyniarskie“ stuffs like books, romances and such things, but in this whole Lovefool I found two things that I liked.
First: Scholar promotes people who brings something in Europe. The main characters got Polish nationality and are shown as today Europeans: they are active, assertive, stylish and know what they want.
A trip to Berlin is not a problem, they just got in a train and start a journey in the same way like they travel to a wonderful Wroclaw or Warsaw, that appears every now and then in the background, or Masuria (my neighbour was screaming from joy, because Mragowo was introduced).
The second thing: because of the mix of cultures in Europe and different influences in the cultural development in Europe, we see quite good described person, one of the main characters and the most interesting one: Julian as connection of these all features. He, as a being more powerful than a human is, cumulates in himself myths and legends from Ancient Rome, Greeks up to the Viking Era.
This is quite a risky idea, but it introduces values that are near to every European, because it’s basement of our European values and it connects us. Scholar proved once more that Europe and Europeans can be promoted in a good way, not only through political debates, but through young artists.
